Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I went to the midwife yesterday and I am realizing I need to get in gear and get ready for this baby. I am eating unhealthy, not taking in suppliments working out or anything.lol I want to go back on my whole foods diet, which I have been on all my life except since we moved in october.lol Anyone have any books or anything ot tips?
I am wanting to make my own bread again, and I need recipies.lol And also list foods I should avoid.lol My best friend lectured me and said nothing in a box or a can.lol
But are canned beans ok, or should I only use dried? Also I can't take prenatal vitamens, I get violently ill, it is really bad, I can't take vitamens when I am not pregnant eather, not even flinstones.lol Also I am to drink 3-4 glasses of redleaf tea a day, which I love tea so that is wonderful, but is there any other suppliments to look into, like a tea? That shouldn't mess up my tummy?
I figure the workout I am getting chasing 3 boys around all day.lol But I need to strech more, so I am going to work on that.
So anyone have any idea's or tips; websites or book recomendations?

Lori,

I only have a minute, but I just wanted to share a few things. I know you are young and have had a few babies already, I was at the same place you are a few years ago, I also thought chasing my little ones at the time was good enough exercise, and that it was okay if my diet slipped a bit once in awhile.

Now a few years later, I'm seeing some of the effects of having so many babies so close together. Nothing super bad, praise God, but just dealing with some things that I haven't in the past. I realize how important it is to continue taking good care of myself, eating right, drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffine (I'm in the midst of cutting it out, it's HARD!) avoiding sugar, and, GOOD exercise. Try to get out for a brisk 20 minute walk at least a few times a week if you cannot get out each day, and KEGELS!! My midwives harped on me for years to do these, and I always thought I was fine, and they were not necessary. GOOD grief do I wish I would have done them all along.

Here is a link to the late Dr. Brewers advise for pregnant women. Blue Ribbon Baby

Lori,
By all means, do Kegel. But Lisa, don't be so hard on yourself. I was a mega-kegeler and it happened anyway. I'm beginning to think that it's the exception when it doesn't happen to women who have had six or more. Sigh. If it's any consolation, you're in great company!

Thanks for info on the Brewer diet - I had never heard of it. Just hope this hyperemesis passes so that I can start eating something healthy again.

I have not yet started kegels yet this pregnancy...

Thanks for the advice! I am checking out the page. I am pretty good about soda, except we bought some for a party christmas eve.lol We normally don't have any, and the only caffene I get is tea right now, and an occasional cup of coffee.
You all keep them comming! As for kegels, trust me I do try to do alot of those, I only have 3 kids and have certain issues.lol
