Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anybody want to do this?

I want to continue a goal of eating at least 1/2 cup of leafy greens daily and add a goal of taking a walk of at least 1/2 hour a day every day, weather and other circumstances permitting.

I would actually like to walk more and eat more leafy greens, but these are just minimum goals.

For October 1, I had my half cup of broccoli, but no exercise walk.

I started walking again with the children . We sort of had a bad scare with the drug houses on the street .I was even afraid in my yard for awhile but now school has started there seem to be more people around so we've begun walking . not 1/2 hr maybe 15min but so far it has been nice the doggies even come with us
I've a problem remembering to eat .I do not have a big appetite . I purchased clorophyl the other day and been adding 1 cap full to herb drink each day .
I will try and keep up the walking for sure and my goal is breakfast not for kids but myself actually sit with them instead of doing dishes while they eat
sounds like a good challenge , little steps . I'm in

I started the Couch to 5K(abbreviated)running program last week. I planned to do that aerobic activity 3x/wk and my Pilates tape(ab and stretch sections)the other days. I then got sick with a cold/sinus thing. I am discouraged as I always seem to get sick when I am motivated and start an exercise routine. So, as I recover, I plan on trying through October. I am with you. And I'll throw in a nutritional goal of eating a piece of fruit each day, a yogurt, and a serving of green vegies.

Hope to hear occasional updates from you ladies and maybe others will "join" -- then I won't be the only one posting throughout the month

Yesterday I took a 1.92-mile walk in 1 hour 12 minutes, but had no leafy greens. Today I had about 1/2 cup of asparagus and a 1.09-mile, 40-minute walk.

Oh, and today I weighed in at 5.6 pounds lighter than on the probable day of my 6-week-old's conception.

Theresa today we did the park . Had to wear our winter hats but we did it and it did warm up later on in the day .
I had two pieces of toast for breakfast not the healthiest but I ate that was the goal
I had my herbal drink and tinctures but later made a fire for the kids and had marshmellows and hotdogs

Well, I totally blew August and September, but I won't let that discourage me! I looked in the mirror the other day and was so upset by what I saw. Time for a change!

I think I am going to start T-Tapp at Angie's suggestion. I read the testimonial of the homeschooling mom of 12 who went down from a size 22 to a size 8! I had been lamenting the possibility of ever getting out of a size 12.

I polka'd yesterday and jogged on our walk today. I made a big salad and have been having it at dinner each night--with a cooked vegetable. I am sore. I am also glad to be back at it. I hope I can keep going.
I am interested in T-tapp but not sure where to fit it in :)

I received a Wii and a Wii Fit for my b-day and Christmas gifts. I started today, and set a goal for losing 4 lbs in 2 weeks. I plan to use the Fit for at least a half hour daily.

No leafy greens since I last posted, ugh. I have walked each day though! Approx. 43 minutes, 1.34 miles on Saturday; 66 minutes and 1.92 miles on Sunday; and 30 minutes and 1.04 miles tonight.

18 minutes, .64 miles on the 7th. Baby was crying in the Moby Wrap so I had to go back home. 33 minutes, 1.16 miles last night. My rate of speed has increased to over 2 miles per hour... still slow.

No leafy greens though.

I have had bronchitis the last few days, so I cannot do too much without having breathing problems. But, I have done at least 30 minutes on the Wii Fit, mostly balance with some yoga thrown in. After I feel better, I will focus more on strength and aerobics.

well I had two bad days thurs & fri did not eat breakfast and on friday had one cup of coffee . Bad choices . Then today I began with cottage cheese and pinapple ( so good ) packed up my herbal drink and went to pilates Came home had some real rye toast and guava juice .Drove ds12 to his karate class and read my book . mountains and valleys next saterday I am taking ds7 to swim while ds12 is in his class . goal of the week , perhaps ?
I am definately ordering the good breakfast book to motivate myself . I have been making the kids healthy popcicles for breakfasts as a treat and thinking . why don't I also eat them ? They are so yummy .Just like a frozen smoothie they say the mango coconut is good but absolutely loved the last batch peach with almond flavor . I always add yogurt milk and honey thinking maybe I could chuck in some oatmeal too
what I also am finding difficult is our walking .It is getting colder and colder and I'm just not a winter person . I tighten all up and on our colder days now I've not gone outside for our walk .

I used to be a non-eater of breakfast as well. Mostly before I had kids, if I had to go somewhere in the morning like school or work. It's definitely a good habit to be establishing!

I walked 50 mins./1.56 mi on the 9th, 59 mins./1.95 mi on the 10th, and 38 mins./1.27 mi tonight. Had leafy greens every day since I last posted except today (so far.)

Walked 1.3 miles in 31 minutes tonight -- finally just barely broke 2.5 miles per hour! Also had leafy greens at dinner.

Also weighed 7.2 pounds lighter than day of conception (baby will be 8 weeks Thursday.) A couple of days ago it was 8.6 pounds -- I actually want to slow my rate of loss! I've been eating a bit less than I probably should, but it's hard to catch up at night when I realize I'm low on calories again. Ideally I would probably lose another 45 to 60 pounds.

Any updates, Roxie, Anne, Angi, Molly? Or anyone else? I'm not used to being a thread "hostess" and I guess it shows

As for me, since the last post, my only walk has been 39 minutes, 1.62 miles on the 20th. The baby is having much of her awake time when we should be sleeping, and since she almost always sleeps soundly in the Moby Wrap when we're walking and that's almost always in the evening, I've been hesitant sometimes. Plus our 4-year-old has a respiratory illness right now so it wouldn't be the whole-family time I like it to be.

I had my leafy greens on the 20th and 21st.

And yesterday I weighed in at exactly 10 pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight! The baby just turned 2 months old.

I am doing okay. I have not done much exercise with the Wii lately. My asthma has been so bad that I feel getting though the day alive is my only goal at times.

Hopefully I will feel better soon and can get back to it!

Yes as always by the months end a bit of slacking seems to go on for me
I am here I've just felt overwhelmed and why is it when we are overwhelmed the first thing we often let go of is our health !
Well I am determined not to get to far off the track
I did no pilates what so ever this week . I will be so sore tomorrow after class .
However the herbal teas and tinctures I've been keeping up with .
I slacked on walking once the rain and cold frost came . We did socialize though .Meetuing new friends getting out and about and social activity is a mmust for health as well
oh I also did not have breakfast for 3 days now
tomorrow cottage cheese and pinapple again just get back on the wagon if we fall
God Bless , Roxie

Congratulations!

Like Roxie, when something else is going wrong I fall off my health habits first. Why is that?

I haven't posted on here but I do read it and appreciate you keeping it up, Theresa.

I am trying to exercise daily even if only for 15 minutes, and drink water more regularly, and eat breakfast every day.   Maybe putting those goals up here will help me take them more seriously.
