Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are giving our little one a nice set of wood blocks. Various Melissa and Doug products would make good gifts, too.

Back to Basic Toys has some really nice ideas for 1-2 year olds if you put that age in the search window.

My little one loves Wedgits and the older ones like to play with them too.

We're giving replacement copies of George Brundage books (Catholic topics, like the Mass, the Blessed Mother, other saints, etc.).

We are also thinking about a ride-on vehicle. The steering wheel of our dump truck ride-on broke off over the summer, leaving jagged edges. We pitched it, and our 2 yo is itching for something more bike-like, even though he has a couple cars from which to choose.

I have a 5 year old with Down Syndrome, so we just get her developmentally appropriate toys; ie for a two year old. She loved the cardboard stackable blocks in graduated sizes, and the wooden bead stringer at Little Red Robin
