Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just wrote a post under Special Blessings about my son having ADHD. I wrote about how God led us to home school and how it has been such a blessing especially with this son. I also see God's hand in the fact that when we started homeschooling I became very interested in the Montessori Method. I read everything I could and began buying and making things for our classroom. Now that I am teaching my ds some of the basics, I see how the Montessori Method is so effective with this type of child. It is so neat how God has prepared me for this. (I should add that as a "traditional classroom teacher" the Montessori Method seemed "weird" and not something I would have considered even looking into! ) So now my question... For those of you familiar with the Michael Olaf web site, what do you think of the catalog? I know it is only $6, but if the website contains all the information that is in the catalog, I'd rather read it for free and use the money for school stuff. Any comments on this?

Becky, if you order anything they will send you the catalog for free, at least they did years ago when i bought dd a little broom- which by the way is still one one of the favorite "toys" in the house-go figure!

I like having the catalogs to curl up with and get inspired but im sure its all on the site (i havent looked at it in forever!) I always prefer a book to a screen but that is just me.

I often make my own stuff after reading the catalog. Also look around at local thrift shops and stores. I saw a washboard in a different montessori catalog once for 40$ and bought one at the corner farm supply store for 8$. It is dd absolutely favorite thing to do-again go figure. Maybe i can get her to do my laundry!!

They have continued to send me catalogs even though i havent order since then. The cover art is lovely too.

Good luck...Maggie
