The online store at Little City Kidsis closing. They're having a big sale. I just picked up the botany puzzles, which I think my 4 yo will like.

Thanks for posting this- lots of great stuff. I see they have a map stand for 75% off- down to $45. It's not a deluxe stand, but it would sure do the job at my house!

I don't know if anyone else here has ever bought from them - if so, it would be great to share your experiences. On eBay they were known by the user ID "robinshousedog", and have since been NARU'd (no longer a registered user), although that can happen for innocuous reasons, not just bad ones.

Anyway, I only bought from them once: a full set of the constructive triangle boxes. I was so excited to get the whole set for like $90. Anyway, the quality was pretty bad - the boxes and triangles were rough, cheap wood, the paint was off, pieces were missing, etc., etc. I ended up throwing them all away about a year later.

So, while I'm not saying everything they sell is like that, be careful and maybe buy only a few things instead of a ton. There's definitely a "you get what you pay for" vibe going on with them.

Thanks for the heads up, Lori. I heard about the sale on the playschool6 list and the buyer seemed happy with what she got. I only bought the botany puzzles because that's all I really needed, but I sure hope I'm not frustrated here, too! I've had some bad luck with quality in the last few months. The knobs come off our alison's maps and the imbucare boxes I bought from alison's on sale... the paint chips, so I can't actually give them to the baby.

You should let Alison's know - they do care about that kind of stuff. They've switched to a new supplier within the past few months, one that has better quality items, so maybe you got some of the lower-quality stuff they used to sell. They might be willing to upgrade you or something.

I haven't bought anything from Little City, but Robin is a dear, very pleasant!!

Alison's will happily replace your puzzle, they sent me a newer and much nicer Puzzle Map of the World because of knob issues and it was months later, they keep great records and want to do what they can for customer service, I would say they are top of the line in that dept for sure
