Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey!
I saw good news this week for all you ladies in Canada-
CHC now has a Canadian supplier . That should really help with shipping costs your way- not free, but way cheaper.

Being the heapo, cheapo person that I am, I hate to pay shipping costs for anything. I thought it might be fun- and helpful- to compile a list of our favorite ways to get free shipping.

1. If I like a store or publisher, I will sign up to get their e-mail newsletters and promotions, Every now and then free shipping will be a featured deal

2. Have an item shipped free to your local store, where you can pick it up... Walmart and Penny's do this, but probably many other places do as well.

3. Sign up for a service like Amazon Prime- though I am not sure that it counts as free shipping, since you pay a flat fee up front.

Those are a few of my favorite strategies. What are yours?

Ship-to-Store is a great option for many stores.

Also, I always check Retail Me Not for coupon codes.

Some stores, like Staples and Kohls, give free shipping (or at least free shipping more often) for loyal customers.

ebates.com it's cash back on purchases when you go through their site (just have to check if they have the store) and depending on the site, the percentage back is different and can make up the difference. And actually you can get money for referrals so if you wanted to give me credit for a referral you could use this link

many places doe the free shipping on over $xx usually between 50 and 99.

swimoutlet.com is great for this is you're shopping for swimwear (suits, goggles, caps, rash guards, shorts, etc)

I do a full websearch if I'm looking for a coupon.. just type in the store name and "coupon" and then check the places that generally have a better rep like Retail Me Not. But I've found that no site has every code out there.. so the full web search generally gets me better results either in finding any coupon at all or in finding a better coupon.

DiscountDance usually has free shipping and returns, and I have been very pleased with my purchases from them for dd.

I know that one strategy for companies that don't offer free shipping is to call customer service and ask for a deal. I have never done that (surprisingly ). Has anyone ever tried?

Only once, at Ignatius Press, when I had a $300 order. It didn't work.

I believe if you have a Red Card it is free shipping no matter the amount. This is nice if the local store is out of stock and I can just buy online and it ships for free (plus another 5% off with the card too).

Sheesh! That is disappointing to hear. That is a pretty substantial order
