Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So...at what age do your boys start shaving?

Laura (mom to 13 year old who is starting to look like he is 18 with a moustache!)

When my little kids start teasing the older boys about their mustaches, that is when they started shaving--

I have had 12 and 13 year olds shaving their upperlip (except during hunting season of course--because that is like a rule, just ask their dad )

Funny you should ask. I was just looking through a journal my older son wrote for awhile around that age and ran across the entry he made for the first time he shaved. He was 13 (getting closer to 14). The next one was a little older. He still, at 18, doesn't have to shave much compared to the oldest. There is such a variation between boys as to when and how often they need to shave, I think. Anyway, that is what we've seen among their friends in those 13-18 years.

Funny Joann, it happened the same way here. One of the younger kids drew oldest ds with a 'stache - so the next day dh taught him to shave. He was 14, and I think he's only shaved twice since then.

My 14yo JUST started shaving a couple of months ago... he almost doesn't need to- blond hair, fine blond facial hair- but dh said it was too long and ds was eager to shave. He has shaved 2-3 times total and one of those times was more of a gratuitous shave

My oldest, not until 17, I think!

My son who just turned 16 needs to (chin) but doesn't WANT to. He *likes* his few pirate-like hairs, I guess. I think it looks silly. So, I asked my husband....and he told him to shave them.

My oldest is at a boys military school, so the first time he shaved was the night before his first day of school freshman year.

My 15 yos has no need to shave. But he has almost no eyebrows, and very blonde body hair so it might be awhile before he needs to shave.
