Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

God willing, we will be finalizing the adoption of our youngest foster child in late July/early August. Immediately thereafter we will have her baptized. We could not be more thrilled!!

My question to you ladies is if you know of a place I can purchase a simple white cotton dress in a 3T/4T I can have her baptized in. I have searched on line and found a couple but not exactly what I want. I've tried the flower girl dress route but most are either (1) sleeveless or (2) very ornate, which is not what I am looking for.

Thanks for your help.

I bought a white flower girl dress in a consignment shop for my dd's first communion years ago. It was sleeveless though, and I wanted it to have sleeves. I brought it to a seamstress and she easily sewed sleeves on and you couldn't tell they weren't there to begin with. Just an option if you can't find anything else you like.

Something like this bolero jacket can also give sleeves to a dress..

How exciting! Here are some (inexpensive, even) options from Dharma Trading Company.

Waverly, I found a pretty white eyelet lace dress for £10 in a supermarket and bought that for my 14mo girl's baptism, and she wore a white lacy bolero cardigan over the top. The dress was very simple and not a "special" dress but she looked very special. It is frustrating when little long christening gowns won't do the job and that's all you can find.

I said a prayer for your little darling

Have you tried Strasburg Children? It can be on the pricey side, but you could also search ebay for some used options. Their outlets often have good deals as well. Just in a quick glance at their website, I thought these two dresses might fit the description.

Thanks so much everyone!

The first dress CrunchyMom has listed is exactly what I'm looking for. The model also looks amazingly like my dd. I think I will search to see if I can find it used.

Anyone else have a suggestions - maybe a similar but less expensive choice?

We found one at our local consignment shop for our daughter Hannah as well. We adopted her when she was 20 months old and she was 22 months old when she was baptized. It was a 3T size and brand new. We'll be baptizing Rachel on June 21st (she is 20 months old) but she is much, much smaller than Hannah and is only wearing 12 month clothes.

Congratulations!!!
