Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My youngest son has been potty trained for a while now, but he has been having a problem with tinkling in the sit down position. (He doesn't like to go standing up.) He uses the regular potty seat, no insert, and will sometimes hit the floor with his aim because he shoots through the seat and the rim. Am I the only one with this problem? We tell him all the time to make sure he points down but it doesn't always work. Do I need to change toilet seats? Ours have a gap between the rim and the seat. Any ideas?

My first thought is you can turn him around. Does he face the back of the potty, where the flusher is, or the front of the potty? My DS goes #2 facing the back, and when he was learning, we used to make him lean forward to go wet. We used a potty seat for along time, though.

I wish I knew the answer to this one. Believe it or not, I have the same problem with my girl. It has to do somehow with the way she sits; I've yet to figure it out. Every so often, the urine will go between the seat and the rim and all over the floor and any clothes in the way.

It doesn't happen as much as it used to. And I don't know how it would differ exactly with a boy. You might try having him consciously do different positions (leaning forward or back or sitting up straight). I wish you luck.
