Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ds is applying to some California schools and NYU. They want ME to fill out this section of the Common App(I am shaking in my boots ).
Has anyone here done this that would be willing to share what they wrote? I have an idea of what I want to say but would love some examples to see if I am heading the right direction or being to "mom-like."
Thanks!

Have you finished this? If so, what did you do?

My oldest went to public high school from the middle of 10th grade on (long story), so I only had to account for three semesters, and sent it as "supplementary material" (since he is graduating from public h.s.). I'd be happy to share what I wrote, but I don't know if it would serve your purpose, as it's not quite the same thing.

II found a group that had a lot of different examples-everyone's kids seemed to get into college so it meant, to me, it really didn't matter much as long as some information was there.
In the whole process of filling it out, I tried not to repeat information. In my counselor recommendation(stuck to character), school profile(stuck to school philosophy, his SAT, ACT scores, and our teaching style/philosophy, information about our move, etc.), then the transcript, course descriptions, dual enrollment class info, all was loaded on my counselor side and his extracurricular activities were entered by Ds. It was quite the chore and it was hard to complete some of the areas because it felt like I was repeating myself, but we got it done. And he will get in to college if I can remember to get the name of the group I found examples in I will post it.

That's pretty much what I did on all our applications, though I don't specifically remember what I did on the Common App . . . in the main I just tried to be as impartial as possible, to talk about strengths but not sound like "Mom Thinks Her Baby Is The Most Perfectest Baby In The World." That's hard . . .

But yes -- that stuff is such a small part of the picture that they're looking at. And it will all be fine!
