Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are prayfully considering sending our 3rd son to St. Gregory's his junior year. This child is very family-oriented and really a joy to be with a high majority of the time.

Yet, he struggles with structure and getting any schoolwork done. This is his personality and schooling 5 other siblings with a toddler doesn't give me the time he needs. We have tried tutors, Kolbe Academy, etc. but what he needs is hourly structure. The local schools here would not be good for him.

I struggle between keeping him home with very low standards (much less than he is capable of or that is even good for a college-bound kid) or sending him off for a bit of structure for a year.

Does anyone have a very close personal experience with this school? Or know someone who does? This son has no behavioral problems, experience with dating, drinking, movies, etc. Every blog I have read where sons were sent there, the bottom-line reason was to "shape them up". I am not looking for this, but for a continuation of his manly maturation.

If anyone has a concern why this might not be a good match for my son, please PM. I am not looking for concern/challenges of the school itself. I am trying to look at this objectively and see if Peter would benefit from a year at St. Gregorys.

Many thanks!
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
My husband teaches there and my two oldest sons attend there! We live about 20 minutes away from the school and my boys still live on campus . . . and love it!

I'll PM you for more details!
Margot
