Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ami,
Thank you. While this last school year has been a challenge for me to say the least (selling a house, moving, new baby and massive memory loss), the last month I have just barely hung on. These look like they will be a tremendous help to me. I look at my poor little 5 yr. old and I can't believe how little I have read with him compared to his older siblings. Thank you for all the work you put into this site. I'll be using it often!
Come Holy Spirit!

Thank you for these units. I am so thrilled to find some ideas that even I can implement. Humbly I admit to not being to the most creative mother. It is a huge stumbling block for me to really really commit to homeschooling. I can't believe all your wonderful ideas and plans. Thank you!!!!!

My niece and I are going to do your unit on Sarah Plain and Tall this summer. We are both looking forward to it. Thanks again for sharing. I will let you know how it all goes. Hopefully I can do justice to all your hard work.

Also, many of you know I am trying to broaden the geographical spectrum of the literature based unit studies listed at the site (also in comparison to FIAR).

I could use help in writing some literature based units (I can't do them all by myself!)

Here is a list of books that I would like to add to the units at Home School Share. Please let me know if you are willing to try your hand at writing a study--

The Empty Pot by Demi *Asia

Galimoto by Karen Williams *Africa

Lake of the Big Snake: An African Rain Forest Adventure by Isaac Olaleye

Bikes for Rent by Isaac Olaleye *Nigeria

Honey, Honey, Lion by Jan Brett (the book will be released this fall) *Africa

Faraway Home by Jane Kurtz *Ethiopia

Jamela's Dress by Niki Daly *South Africa

Trouble by Jane Kurtz *Africa

Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain: A Nandi Tale (Reading Rainbow Book) by Verna Aardema *Africa

Monsoon by Uma Krishnaswami *India

The Little Brown Jay by Elizabeth Claire *India (folktale)

Gauchada by C. Drew Lamm *Argentina

Thanks for your consideration! Let's work together to give our children a broad world view!

I also added a place for people to buy, sell, and trade books (especially FIAR book or books used in the studies at HomeSchool Share).

If you have other homeschool curricula that you would like to buy or sell (or trade!), feel free to list that, too. I am asking that no links to ebay auctions be posted unless they are specifically FIAR books or HomeSchool Share unit study books.

Thank you so much for posting this information. We are traveling to the Met right now with From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankwiler, but I will be back for our next adventure!

Blessings!

Theresa

Ami, I finally got around to looking at your site and what a tremendous job you have all done! There are many years worth of studies to do here with our children and it is so appreciated
I think we'll do Time of Wonder, we love that book and as we're still reading Swallows & Amazons it will tie in nicely with the nautical theme and of course with Katrina. Thank you so much for this wonderful site.

God Bless!
