Forty Illustrators Celebrate RIF's 40th Anniversary
Art of Reading

I picked this one up at the library, since the title intrigued me.
I am enjoying it so much!

Basically, forty different illustrators have picked their favorite picture books from childhood and have recreated a scene from the book. Ex. Ashley Wolff
picked "Blue Berries For Sal" and her recreations was a little girl and her mother canning blueberries in a modern kitchen. The original and new art work is shown.   

It's just so much fun to look at all the illustrations and read what the artists thought and liked. Many of them talk about what inspired them to want to be illustrators as a living. One said he only read comic books until he was in high school, and then one of his teachers got him hooked on reading books.   That was very hopeful, IMO

Anyway- fun summer read for any picture book addicts out there
