Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for a book that I read a few years ago with my children, but I can't remember the name!
It's a picture book where the main character was blind, and he and his grandmother were very close. She would read to him on a special chair, and he eventually wore a small hole in the chair with his finger. When she died, she left something to everyone in the family by hiding notes around the house. The main character could not find his note, and his parents suggested that he had been forgotten because he was the youngest grandchild. He eventually found his note in the hole in the chair.
Please help!
Thanks!

A search for main concepts you mentioned brought up this book. Reading the reviews, it sounds like the book you're looking for! HTH
