Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for a couple of lovely picture books for my 2 yo and 5 yo girls for gifts from the Three Wise Men (always books, since they're so wise). I'd like opinions on some McClintock books:

Adele & Simon
Adele & Simon in America

I'm not thrilled with the comparison of the above two to Where's Waldo. Where's the story, is what I want to know. I thought maybe I could use them as a geography supplement, the first along with Madeline ... ?

Dahlia(this Charlotte sounds like ME as a kid, complete with dirt under my fingernails, though I never had fancy dolls, just hand-me-downs from my older sisters).

Danielle

OR is there anything else you might recommend, keeping in mind that we have an enormous home library?

Dahlia is a fun read. I've read one of the Adele & Simon books, though I can't really remember much so it must not have left much of an impression. The Barbara McClintock books that I really enjoy are the ones she illustrates with Jim Aylesworth which are versions of classic folk and fairy tales.

I know it's past Three Kings Day and I hope you made a WISE choice in your book-giving (BTW I LOVE that idea since we also celebrate 3 Kings), but I just wanted to let you know that we have enjoyed Adele & Simon so much that I just posted a review of it under Picture Book Discoveries.

God bless,
