Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We discovered Sibylle Von Olfers several years ago and LOVE her books. She was a Prussian princess (lived in a castle with her 4 siblings), but joined the Sisters of St. Elizabeth at the age of 25. She wrote children's books and died at 34 from a lung infection.

Amazon has some of her titles reprinted. The Story of the Root Children and the Story of the Butterfly Children are especially nature-centered and lovely.
Then there is the Wind Children and The Princess in the Forest.

Not worth interlibrary loaning, because they are worth owning

Anyone else have more titles?

Blessings,
Stephanie

We don't have any of the titles but have borrowed The Story of the Root Children. I have all boys and the youngest is 7, so these aren't worth owning for us, but I've thought about borrowing more through ILL. Root Children is a lovely book from what I remember. I like the sweet illustrations and life in the forest. I guess that's why I've always appreciated Berenstain Bears. How cool to live in a tree and have furniture that still looks like branches??!

We also like the Snow Children. It's in our winter box.
