Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The Twelve Dancing Princesses

If you have not seen this version, retold and illustrated by Ruth Sanderson, you are in for a treat! The story is well-written, and the pictures are just gorgeous. These are not Disney Princesses .
I loved looking at the pictures with my dc.

Princesses, Princes, fairy tales, dancing, gardeners, swan boats, castles

What age would you say the book is geared towards?

My dd (5 yrs) really liked it, and so did my ds (7).
I would say any age from 3-4 on up could enjoy the pictures.
The story is gently written, so I think 5 and up could enjoy it.

For older kids, it could work in a cinderella around the world study or in a study of great illustrators.
