Here is a great children's book blog that is written by a friend and former coworker of my husband's. She isn't a parent, but she is passionate about children's literature (she wrote her thesis on Peter Pan) and has good taste

I thought you ladies might be interested in following her, especially since she follows many of the newest books and classics alike. I find it overwhelming to sift through the newest releases, sorting the wheat from the chaf, myself, and I like having her do it for me She reviews the occasional chapter book as well.

Since she isn't a parent, she might not be as perceptive in some of the things parents find troubling (I haven't experienced this, just throwing it out there), but I definitely trust her judgment in weeding out "twaddle."

Oh, great...another good picturebook blog I'll have to follow....

It does look very good - she's a woman after my own heart. I have wanted to do a picturebook blog as well - it's never going to happen...

I see her latest recommendation is for Crow Call and The Lion and the Mouse (Pinkney). The Pinkney book is gorgeous - a real nice wordless book which I highly recommend as well. And ironically I have Crow Call on hold from the library. They just purchased it and it must have just arrived since it says in transit on my library record. I should be able to pick it up today - I've been waiting a month for it.

I "envy" her for finding this lovely use of her time before marrying and having children of her own. How differently I wish I'd used my own time as a single adult!
