Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yes, I know, it's Easter time. My mind is on Jesus, just baby Jesus today.

Can anyone remember the name of a book with a poem in it about Our Lady choosing to stay home and rock baby Jesus "because somebody should." Something like that.

The book is in my attic with the Christmas decor.

Thanks for any help!

Sorry I can't help you, Victoria but I am curious to know when you find out -- it sounds great!

Love,

Mystery solved! Your kind wishes paid off, Angie. I found it.

The book is _When It Snowed That Night_ by Norma Farber. Years ago it was the excellent recommendation of our Elizabeth Foss that led me to the book. I think of this on those days it is too difficult to make it to Church. Farber is speaking of Our Lady.

The end of the poem is:

I never got to Bethlehem,
someone, I thought, should (day and night)
be here, someone should stay at home.
I think I was probably right.

For I have sung my child to dream
far, far away from where there lies
a woman doing much the same.
And neither of our children cries.
