Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just had to share this treasure I found from my childhood. 3 in 1 a Picture of God Buy it! Share it with your kids and godchildren!

I dearly love St. Patrick, but I must say that the shamrock never did for me what the apple of this book does. The apple metaphor effectively explains the 3 in 1 concept and also extends to how each person of the Trinity has a different purpose. I wish I could print the whole text here; there isn't much, and it is presented with simple bright pictures. All five kids wanted me to read it again and again yesterday, and we gave a copy to our friends for their daughter's baptism.

The Concordia publishing house is Lutheran in case you aren't familiar with them. Also, the notes on the book say that the artwork is "refreshed". The only difference that I could see was that the colors are more vivid than I remember.

What books have you rediscovered from your childhood?

Rachel,
I have many of my childhood favourites here. Munro Leaf's Ferdinand the Bull is one.
When my family gets together we reminisce about our books. My brother and sister have been fighting over the possesion of Tops and Bottoms. (Fortunately unkown to them I have picked up a spare copy to give when..)

Erin,
Your story of sibling fights has peaked my curiosity over "Tops and Bottoms" -- I haven't heard of this. Could you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

I used that book to teach The Trinity to my Sunday School class when I was Presbyterian years and years ago. I've always thought it was fansastic!
