Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Each Christmas Eve we give each child a special book. I'm stumped as to what to get them this year.

In the past we've done:
The Weight of the Mass
Bible for Little girls/boys
The Princess and the kiss
I'll be your hero/princess
God's book of wisdom for little boys/girls

This year I have the Squire and the scroll for my oldest son and a first bible for the baby, but still need a book idea for my 7 yr old daughter and my 3 year old son.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Melissa,
Do you have Josephine Nobisso's newest book?
Take it to the Queen

I give books to my children on St. Nicholas Day (Dec. 6th).

This year I bought:
Jan Brett's newest book:
Gingerbread Friends
and
The Gift of the Christmas Cookie

How about A is for Altar, B is for Bible for the 3yo and A Child's Book of Prayer in Art for the 7yo?

Thank you for the suggestions! We already have A is for altar and a Child's book of Prayer in Art, but Take it to the Queen looks perfect for my 7 year old!

Thank you so much!

I love "Will You Bless Me" by Neal Lozano and "You are special" (I know, a bit of a trite title...BUT a fantastic book) by Max Lucado.

Both are beautifully illustrated and well written.

God Bless,
Maggie

For the 3 year old - how about The Parables of Jesus by Tomie dePaola. The stories are nicely written and the illustrations are classic dePaola.

Pascual and the Kitchen Angels is also a nice one for younger kids.
