Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd, who is 5, is enjoying the Usborne Lift the Flap Body Book. There are 2 pages we skip in the baby section. She needs to DO something when we are reading. She isn't very interested in reading with me.
So, I will look for more Lift the Flap books. Are there are pop-up, wind up, do things books you can recommend?
She also enjoyed the lift the flap Bible stories book we have had for years.
I think I have found a way to get her more interested in reading and I want to go with it.

That is great you've found something she's interested in - sounds like a good genre to focus on right now.

There are lots of other Usborne books to check out in the lift/flap series.

In the Fiddle is a Song
The Alphabet Room

The Jolly Postman and sequels by Allen Ahlberg

I haven't seen this one but my kids really liked Franklin and this sounds like a fun book. Franklin's Big Search-and-Solve

Robert Sabuda is a very talented pop-ip artist. The books he has written or illustrated are very intriguing and enjoyable for children. ex: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: A Pop-up Adaptation

My kids at that age also loved the I spy and Where's Waldo type books - not alot of words for actual reading, but will get them to sit and be busy in a book.

What about books that have actions, too?

We love the book Dinosaurumpus -- you dance like a dinosaur throughout it. :)

Also, I believe it is called Head to Toe by Eric Carle would be fun.

There are others I'm drawing a blank on! If I think of them I'll come back and post.

Oh, what about the "touch and feel" books with a soft baby lamb or a scratchy ball? We love those around here, too!
