Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dr. Seuss

keywords: colors emotions rhyming

This is one Dr. Seuss book that I had missed.. I had never heard of it. I was very pleased with it when we read it--I am going to get my own copy as soon as I can.

My Many Colored Days was written a long time ago, but Dr Seuss felt that he couldn't adequately illustrate it. Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher provided paintings which add incredible dimension to the text.
The result is a wonderful visual metaphor for presenting the gamut of emotions and a clever way of talking about feelings with one's child, whether it's a grey day and we feel down; a yellow day where we're busy as a bee, or a mixed up day. Amazon review

We have this one in a board book and have for a while. My almost 7yo is loving it as we are working on sight reading the names of colors. My 10yo never enjoyed it. It has become a favorite of mine.
