Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

and it is driving me crazy.

This is no great work of literature or anything...it was a book I had in the early 70's ..it was oversized and had a two page spread full of labeled objects on a given topic and it would have at the bottom of the page "but the most important thing about" and then the topic (hats, ice cream, bubble gum) ...followed by "is that it is ...whatever."   My children were asking me about that book and I can't for the life of me remember the title or author. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I know this is weird...lol!   Feel free to ignore me...haha!

God love you!

Sounds like The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown.

And we do rank it among the great picture books! I read this to my older two (years ago) and then they each wrote their own short "important poem." Both chose to write about trees.

I've never heard of this one -- but I now have it on request at the library. Thanks, y'all!

It's a very cute book. I said that I rank it among the great picture books, but it never occurred to me to post it as one of the picture-books-a-day books! Maybe one of us can do that after (re)reading. I'll have to request it at the library too, as my younger two haven't seen it yet.
