We recently borrowed from the library Jon Muth's Stone Soup. We fell in love with both that rendition of the story and, even more, Jon Muth's fantastic watercolors. I haven't read any of Muth's other books, yet. I know that he is heavily influenced by Eastern philosophy. That was obvious in Stone Soup, but not in a way that bothered or offended our family. I'm not all-out recommending all his books, yet, because I haven't read others.

But, I am definitely recommending his paintings and I stumbled across this book of poetry at Barnes and Noble the other day. Normally I wouldn't even glance at a "celebrity" kids book--they are usually completely awful. But this one is just a collection of poems each illustrated by Jon Muth. It is so beautiful.

AND I just noticed that Amazon is selling it for $6.99 which I will tell you all at the risk of it selling out before we can get it. You can look at the table of contents and some of the paintings on the Amazon reader feature.
