Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm not trying to replace the actual book, but I've discovered some of these Scholastic Videos, like Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom that my toddler really enjoys. The actual picture book is on video, sometimes animated with nice music. It doesn't seem to discourage reading the actual book...my son actually wants to read the book even more.

I have to say I'm actually enjoying the DVDs, too! I'm discovering some picture books I wasn't aware of....

Oh, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of inexpensive places to get these DVDs!

Have you tried the Scholastic website? Sometimes they have great specials...very cheap books and such!

What about half.com? Any teacher's stores in your area running them on sale with the new year beginning soon?

Enjoy!

We've had the Tomie DePaola Strega Nona dvd here from the library for a month or so now. My 2yo loves it.

That's the newest one I bought...we love it. I myself am enjoying Joseph Had An Overcoat. The Yiddish sayings crack me up! I love the song, too. My 2yo keeps asking for "Too Much Spaghetti?"
