Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I came home from the library today with a pile of books by John Bellairs. From what I understand, he was a devout Catholic. However, I searched 4Real for anything about him or his books. I thought I might learn about the age appropriateness or decide which books should be read first, etc. I was surprised to find no discussion of his works here. Maybe there is more to his writing than I know?

Can't help - but just commenting that it is always interesting to find someone who seems like they should be mentioned here and who aren't. But obviously there are so many books and writers out there - and sometimes they do get "lost". Here's hoping someone is familiar with these - they sound intriguing for those who like that genre.

Never heard of him, but please let us know what you think after you've read his books. I glanced briefly at his books on Goodreads and looks like there may be at least a couple that my teens would like. Thanks!
