Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

After one reading of Jabberwocky, Bethany (5) has decided she wants to memorize it. ("It's silly and scary") My questions:
How do you pronounce mome, as in "the mome rathes outgrabe"?
and
frabjous as in "O frabjous day! Calooh! Callay!"

Thanks!!
Jennifer

I've always pronounce them: mome as if rhyming with home, frabjous is a bit like fabulous+joyous= frab-jus.

Hear it at this link.

My kids sing a version written (the music) by a member of the Long Island Composer Alliance. If I can find a way to buy the music, I'll post. It's beautiful...

I think Disney has a song version of just that one stanza. I don't think I'd call it beautiful. Maybe catchy? Anyway, that's where I learned my pronunciations which are the same as Theresa's. But now I'm wondering about "rathes". They pronounce it "wraths". Is that right? (No speakers on my computer. )
