Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dd(almost14) wants to read this book by C.S. Lewis. I am not familiar with it. Is it appropriate for a younger teen? She's read Mere Christianity and Screwtape Letters.

Thanks!

I quite enjoyed Pilgrim's Regress but I would recommend reading it yourself before giving it to your daughter as there are references to mature subjects.

Also the book is written as an allegory of C S Lewis's losing then regaining his Faith in the style of Pilgrim's Progress. It's not the easiest of Lewis's books to understand due to the fact that the allegories are quite closely rooted to the events of his life. (It helps quite a bit to have read his autobiography and to know more about the ideas floating around when he was a young man)

Thanks! Looking at the link, I remember that I did in fact try to read this once. It is a pretty deep allegory! I didn't finish it, but I do remember having to re-read parts to make sure I understood.
