My ds almost 11 is reading it. I checked it out with the intention of reading to my ds8, there was a cute little squirrel on the cover. My ds11 raised his eyebrows at me and said "I'm not sure you should read that to him." Now I am wondering if ds11 should be reading it.

I let Ben (then 12) read these last year after a little research. The reviews I read, if I remember correctly, likened them to the Redwall series - which I think is pretty intense (too intense even for my almost 11). Can you get Carter to give details? (Oh I long for the days when I could "read ahead" and keep up with my kids book choices!)
