Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for a good read aloud for my 9 year old dd about Marco Polo and was hoping someone here had some suggestions. Thanks!

Tina,
We studied Marco Polo a few years ago and the one book that my dd really enjoyed was:
Marco Polo by Manuel Komroff--it's one of the Junior Deluxe Editions...with nice black and white ink drawings throughout but definitely a winner as a read aloud--it's about 200 pages. She re-reads it every once in a while--it's one of her favorite books..
Not sure if it's still in print so I would check:

Hi Tina,

We recently read a book on Marco Polo written by Charles Graves. We really enjoyed it!

It's an older book from a series on explorers - but a really fast read and help the interest of all my troopers!

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the suggestions! I wish my library had either of those though! I could try interlibrary loan but they often don't give enough time to actually read the book. Oh well, I may have to break down and buy one if I can find it.
