Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I recently visted someone's blog on which they had posted farming books for kids (Life on the Farm etc) on their sidebar. Anyone know who this was?? Or, do you all know of any good books about farming? (I think this person was doing a bit of a study of farming.)

I was planning ILL today and I noticed there is an awful lot of stuff the kids will be writing about farming. They don't know anything about farming!! I would really like to purchase the newer versions of PLL and ILL, but will have to wait and see how the conference $ pans out. (i.e. any leftover money!) Still might be fun to study the farming since the younger boys will be using it.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Kim~
What sort of books are you looking for?

Picture Books?
How-to's
Literature / Historical fiction of farming families?

And, what age range?

Suzanne,

Sorry I am late in getting back to this. I was looking for life on the farm type books to show an overview or what it is like etc. (Sort of like "Life in a Colonial Villiage" type book?? That is the first thing that comes to mind. Maybe a little old fashioned like Little House, BUT it would be for two boys ages 8 and 11. They will both be using ILL this year and some of the references are to cows, farming and other farm-type situations. I thought it would be nice to read a little on the side so they would know a little about it.

I wish I cold help with the blog - but no idea. There was this thread from some years back that includes lots of great ideas and a pretty complete unit from Kristine.

A unit on farming
