Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am planning to have "Literature Evenings" inspired by Donna's Eerie Evening With Poe. (Thank you, Donna!) I have already done one evening, for the theme of Christmas, during the 12 days of Christmas. It was a success and we plan to do more, God willing. Here is a list my oldest dd and I came up with....we probably will not do all, of course, but I will put all of the names in a basket and we will do whoever comes up. I actually left Beatrix Potter off the list .........and it made me wonder who else I missed. Can you see if there are any of your favorites missing. Oh, I just came up with another, Belloc! I am also open to themes. See what you think. I plan to post my plans on this forum. I already have CS Lewis ready to go, and Poe is almost there.

Thanks, Ladies.....I am so glad I asked!

Actually, I've only read the Kristen Lavransdatter trilogy. I was hoping others had read more and if she did use her, I could see what people thought of her other books.

I LOVED Kristen Lavransdatter, and her other books are on my long list (though I can't recommend any of them personally). I'm a convert, though, and there are LOTS of Catholic authors I've yet to read for myself.

I'm working on Celtic Saints right now. Might be a good theme - or other geographical region.
