Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

besides audible.com, where else can one down load audio books?

And if you subscribe to audible, what sold you on it?

I use audible. It was the first company out there, and I have found that their tech support is wonderful and prompt. I also use Audible.de for German books.

I don't let the kids use it as "erotica" and such are main categories. Ugh.

There are a huge number of other companies out there now, but some are just audible affiliates, and some are independent. Try these to start:

www.simplyaudiobooks.com
www.TheAudioBookStore.com
www.audiobooksforfree.com/screen_main.asp

Thanks MacBeth, I remembered that you use audible.com, and I appreciate your input.
Now 14.95 a month seems steep to me? And if I understnad that is only for 1 book. I need someplace more like NetFlix, where you can choose your level of product use.

Our state (NH) offers this:

Downloadable Audio Books are brought to you by your local public library. Explore the growing collection of audio books and use your library card to download audio books to your computer, transfer them to an MP3 player, or burn selected titles onto a CD for listening on the go. Available 24/7, now your library is always open!

Does your local library give you access to anything like this?

I just downloaded three (max per week) and have placed a hold on the ones that were not available. There were some really good titles, too.

Blessings,

We also use the library's audio library. We did use Audible once. We get most everything we want from the library though.
