I was reading through some old threads and saw her name mentioned for Jane Austen fans. She writes about the Darcy daughters... so I got one at the library, and they are really fun (IMO ).   No brain power required, but there is a plot, some good laughs and the fun of revisiting characters from the original book (though not Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, who are abroad on a diplomatic mission...)

I just read "The Darcy Connection", which is the newest one, I think. My old favorite, Mr. Collins, is in it! Dh and I love to watch the BBC series and laugh about Mr. Collins. The actor who played him did such a great job.

Anyway, if you are looking for some light but fun reading over the holidays, and you like Jane Austen, you might like these books.

I love the Elizabeth Aston books. I actually bought them which is a compliment indeed. I haven't read Darcy Connection, yet, though. I think she does a good job of explaining certain aspects of the time period that you may not always understand when reading Austen--of course in some ways it also makes you blatantly aware that it's not really Austen. But overall I love them.

I was reading the first one last night... I think it is "The Darcy Daughters",
and several clergymen come to call at the same time. One of the girls makes a comment along the lines... "Oh, not another one! Are we to have a plague of parsons among us?"
