Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any suggestions on a good read (not too heavy, maybe humorous) I might get for dh as a Christmas present? Along the lines of Danielle Bean's books (but for men?)
Thanks for any help...I know it's awfully late, but I've been stumped!
I know I'm getting him The Fourth Wise Man, and I though a book might be nice.
It's a challenge to shop for him!

The Christmas Train by David Baldacci? it's a lighter read than his typical spy thriller, but he's a good writer.

Last year I got my dh Clarence Thomas' book My Grandfather's Son He didn't used to be a reader, but he has been since I bought him LOTR 5 years ago!

I gave it to him then had him read the review here: Chris Jeub's Review

It was an experience. He highly recommends it.

This year I got him An apologetics book by Ravi Zacharias and The Lamb and the Fuhrer-Jesus Talks with Hitler by Ravi Zacharias

Oh and the Dangerous Book for Boys boardgame!

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I meant to get that for my dh for Christmas. But his birthday is the beginning of January, so I'll get for that.

I also planned to get An American Family: The Buckleys by Reid Buckley. I had so enjoyed Will Mrs. Major Go to Hell? a few years back, which gave a little glimpse of the Buckley family that I really want to read this. And I know dh would enjoy it.

As far as religious humorous directed for men, two I think are very good and enjoyable:

Swimming with Scapulars by Matthew Lickona

The Bad Catholic's Guide to Wine, Whiskey, and Song by John Zmirak
