Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

School is almost done, and I feel SO compelled to spend the summer reading hours with my beloved saints, with our Holy Father and with John Paul the Great. I already own quite a few saint biographies.

Could you please recommend your favorite titles?

I find such peace of mind when I read about the saints of times past and times present, and when I pay close attention to their words of wisdom. I eagerly await your recommendations, and you have my thanks.

I LOVE The Life of Blessed Margaret Castello.

Looking forward to everyone's favorites!

I was thinking of you when I picked up the Diary of St. Maria Faustina especially in light of the situation with your God-children. It's so comforting to think of Our Dear Lord's tender mercies.

I know everyone has probably read them, but I need to go back and re-read this summer...Story of A Soul, and particularly helpful for me...The Mother of the Little Flower.

And I happen to like anything by St. Josemaria Escriva - he always packs such wisdom and spiritual direction in a sentence.

hehe...I must be stressed. When I first read that sentence I thought it said "School is almost here, "

I second the Margaret of Castello book. Oh that was sooo good. Also, any fiction by Louis de Wohl. I recently read an Ignatius press book; it was historical fiction (not by deWohl but I got it through inter-library loan!) about St. Camillus de Lellis....very compelling!!
