Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our Lord at the last supper image

I just wanted to share with you a beautiful image I found to put on as our background on the computer today. I'm changing my images every day to reflect the different beautiful images of our precious Holy Week.

I found this image, then went into the site to see ALL of the beautiful images, so I bookmarked it! There are some incredible images you can use all of the time there!

I hope it blesses you, as this image of Christ has blessed me all day, knowing that He indeed is our strength, hope, and love, and that we are precious in His eyes.

Have a BLESSED Holy Thursday!

I just printed out four of these for the covers of the girls' Liturgy of the Eucharist section in their notebooks. They had a few other ideas. My nine year old is using it for her back cover and my 7 year old is using it as an additional illustration for her opening narration (from The Easter Story by Gennady Spirin). This picture is beautiful.

What a goldmine, Tracy . You are right; the index in the site is a wealth of images for the whole year...oh the possibilities....

I gather from the "Americas" images that it is an LDS site? Great images! Some are unfamiliar, yet others are well-known.

I missed that the first time around. I went through the index looking for the familiar--matching what I could imagine wanting with what was there. Never looked for an image of Christ visiting the Americas....hmmmm...but now that I've seen it, I guess LDS believe that he visited South America??? That doesn't really look like the United States of America...

i think the site owner is Catholic...

article on indulgences

lives of the saints

from the links page:

translated, it more or less wrote:

Whew! It seemed that way to me, but then I was confused. I wouldn't ever want to send something contrary to our precious Faith.

Oh, I don't think it's any big deal, as many of the images are either "classical" art of Catholic in origin, but I have never seen a Chirst visiting the Americas image at all, and it was interesting! I especially like the pyramids in the background.

Cool site, either way!

i can see that what i wrote above may be somewhat misleading. the quote is from the description of a different site that the site in question has on its links page.

that said, i don't think an LDS site would be linking to (and saying nice things about) a Catholic site, would they?
