Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone tried the Pope app that is available?

We have decided here that we will follow Francis in an active way- my dc have never really been in on a papal election, so this time around they want to keep an eye on what their new pope is doing and where he goes.

We need a pope tracker

Maybe he'll have a twitter account like Pope Benedict did....

I just installed the Pope app so can't really say yet if it's any good.

I follow "Rome Reports" on Pinterest since I'm off Facebook for Lent, and it's pretty up-to-date and so much fun. Watched the Pope get the keys to the Papal Apartments today.

Pope Benedict's tweets have been archived, and the only tweet right now on @Pontifex is "Habemus Papam Franciscum". I guess we'll find out soon enough if he'll be tweeting!

Thanks, Stef!

The Rome Reports look great. I signed up to follow them via Pinterest. My dc will enjoy seeing little bits of his "real life" like this.

Though somehow I don't think that the Pope made comments like, "This needs to be updated with stainless steel appliances" or "I was really hoping for higher ceilings" when he toured his new apartment.

News.va is a great site to follow. It feeds all the different news agencies of the Vatican, so you are really on top of everything.

The Pope App is pretty good; it does list a calendar of the day's events and you can see videos of some of the things Pope Francis has been doing, press conferences, etc. Sometimes I have problems with the live feeds but that could be for many reasons.

He will probably do twitter from Pontiflex. I understand he already has a twitter account from when he was cardinal of Buenos Aires.

Totally showing my age here! I read the title of this thread and started thinking stuff like "give more to poor", " work in soup kitchen again", and "be more consistent in prayer"! I asked my dd for her thoughts and she said, "Mom, I think they mean like Twitter or Facebook!"

But that is also an excellent thought to ponder.

I signed up to follow Pope Francis on Twitter- I feel very modern today
