Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What do you do with the medals, rosaries, mailing labels, scapulars, pictures of Mary that you receive in the mail? We have a limited amount of money to give to charity so I don't usually give to charities that ask for money by mail. Frankly, I almost feel blackmail or manipulated. I am assuming those articles aren't blessed, right? Do you keep them or toss them? What do you do with them?

The rosaries are the ones I keep in the car. The good ones stay in the house so I can keep an eye on their use.

But this way we have them whereever we go.. whether or not we planned.. if we know ahead of time we need them then some of the kids will bring special ones with us.

I use things that we'd use. They were sent to me without my promise of money, so I feel I should be able to use them, and as a friend once pointed out, you can pray for them as support.. and things like mailing labels may advertise for them, you don't have to send them money to use the articles.

I usually pop them into the littles mass bags. Gives them something new to look at and keep them occupied during mass.

I bring them to Church and leave them in the Narthex, with a little "FREE" sticker on 'em for anyone to take home.

I save them in a box for use as prizes/gifts for our support group activity days, additions to craft projects, etc.

I do the same thing. I collect them in a small bin and we give them away for our All Saints party games or for other liturgical celebrations. Sometimes I use them as part of a liturgical craft - for example, once we modge podged a Miraculous Medal onto a wooden plaque along with some blue roses and images of Our Lady for our family Feast Day table.

Oh! Thanks for the ideas. I always keep them because I feel bad throwing them away but I have never used them for anything. Now I have some ideas.

My grandma gave me a huge box of this stuff because she wasn't comfortable throwing it away. I shredded the paper items and gave to my mom to burn in her fire pit. Some of the little items I gave to dd's, but most of it I put in a bag for a lady at our church who makes rosaries. Her rosary group collects this type of stuff for missions (either Africa or South America), and there's a box in our narthex for it.
