Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has CHC redone / updated their FHC prep recently? I won;t be using the whole lesson plan, but will probably buy them anyway to get the FHC prep. Unless someone knows of some similar resources for free? I need hand-holding, step-by-step kind of thing....

Are you asking because you're thinking of getting it used? Or because you didn't care for a version you've seen?

My first impulse is to point out that FHC itself hasn't changed lately.

I have a version I bought 4 years ago that I expect to use again in 2-3 years for my dd...

It has not changed in the last few years. One thing I would point out is that while you cannot copy anything, if they do not write on the materials, you can re-use them. The one change made from the last time we ordered was that they no longer have the template that is ready to just cut and paste. You have to print and make your own anyways. I ordered a second copy because I just liked that I didn't have to cut things to size and collect things. However, one thing they did add were a number of really good stories related to the Sacraments. Oh, the other thing I use are the memory gems - but I cut them out of the book and laminate them (I Id on the back of the card which year they come from in case I want to use them with a particular year). I keep them in a pretty ceramic container (much like a basket) and the children will select a gem from there for memory and reciting. This allows us to go at our own pace, plus allows us to add in quotes from the Saints or other prayers and such that we are trying to learn. I have all the memory gems from all the grades now.

Now, my old version of 2nd grade was the first year it came out, my newer version is from last year, I think.

It is well worth ordering when I can use it for more than one child or I can use something else in it.

The other place where you have the prayer book, the Mass book and such is in the A Year With God. These don't have the First Confession and First Communion stories, which were really good - but it does have all the different projects that go with the religion supplements for various grades.
