Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Everyone,

I'd just like to share something that has really been a blessing to me in my prayer life these past few weeks. Although I believe that prayer is so vitally important, I've had a difficult time getting my prayer life off the ground due to the demands of homeschooling & raising a large family. There are days that I barely have time to say some simple prayers, never mind meditation. Recently a friend of mine started a yahoo group called The Mary Vitamin. When you sign up for the group you receive a daily "vitamin" (only the moderator posts). The vitamin includes a quote about Our Lady along with a meditation. It's recommended that you write these down as you reflect upon them. The next step is to make a resolution which involves thinking about some aspect of Our Lady's character throughout the day - this is the "time-release" part of the vitamin. It really works! I can't remember being this prayerful and reflective ever on a daily basis. I'm also learning so much about Our Lady that I never knew. The best part is that it is so do-able! It takes me about 10 minutes every morning. If for some reason I don't get a chance in the morning for my "vitamin" I squeeze it in at another point in the day as I wouldn't want to go through the day without it.

Try it & see what you think. For those of you who are consecrated to Our Lady, this is a perfect way to live out your consecration!

Wow! I'm so thrilled that some of you think it might work for you! The Mary Vitamin has really made my Advent this year. I consistently make the time for it as I look so forward to mediating on Our Lady throughout the entire day. It's amazing how much there is to learn about Our Lady!

Thanks Brenda!
I'm really finding this helpful to meditate on Mary.

I'm a little embarrassed to bump up this thread, I never really know if I will have the grace to continue this apostolate, but if a daily Marian meditation might help you during Advent, I offer this help.

The link is in my signature.

Helen,
You are in my prayers. I've very much benefited from many of your posts in Mary Vitamin and elsewhere. I hope Mary keeps you close in your apostolate and I hope many others take advantage of your hard work.

I could say LOTS of other nice things - but for the sake of your humility I'll keep it quiet!
