Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year I got my 12 dd a Catholic bible for teens called The Way. In the last 3-4 weeks she has been reading the Bible every night before going to bed. Well, she doesn't like this Bible. She doesn't like the language and she doesn't like that it changes the story that she is familiar with and tells them in a more coloquial language. She wants a real Bible- she says. So,
what edition would you recommend for her?

Thanks,

Natalia

I have information, but it's not first hand. I did a search and found Prove It! the Catholic Teen Bible-NAB

I really like the "Prove It" books and the NAB is the translation used at Mass. (I don't love the translation because of the inclusive language, but it is a good translation and NOT a paraphrase.) There is one review on Amazon for 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm looking forward to others suggestions.

Jenn,
Thank you for your response. I didn't know there was Prove it Teen Bible. My dd has been reading Prove it God this term. I hope our local Catholic bookstore has a copy so I can take a look at it. I like the fact that this one has a normal translation.
I have an old NAB and the reason I haven't change it is because I don't want to get one with inclusive language.
Thanks again,

Natalia
