Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Recently I bought two activity books from Holy Family Press, one on the Sacraments, another on Sacramentals and they were really great - fabulous illustrations and so many great activites for children. Very reasonably priced too, I think in the States there about $3.95 each.

Here is their website with all their exceptional quality Catholic children's activity books plus Catholic colouring books.

Here are the Catholic activity books there are quite a few - you can look at sample pages.

And their beautiful colouring books

Lastly, there is a website for children called Catholic Kingdom with lots of activities.

I've just ordered all their activity & colouring books, and are really looking forward to incorporating them into our catechetical life in the home - definately the many up!

I used the Mary Our Mother activity book last year and loved it! Our local Catholic store has them. They are wonderful!

I haven't seen the cloring books. They look perfect for my daughter.

FOUND IT!    Well I would say it is for primary school children from about 7 - 11 years of age.

This is what Holy Family Press have written at the beginning of this book I have in front of me:

"The activity books in our Creative Catechism series have been designed to help teach your child the Catholic Faith in a manner that is instructive, creative, and fun. Your child should first read the mini-catechism lesson at the beginning of each book. It explains the book's theme according to the teachings of the Church. The lesson can be studied alone, but we encourage you to read it with your child for a shared learning experience. The puzzles and activities have been designed to reinforce the points explained in the text."

I wanted to come back and add that we started our last term back at school yesterday. For religion we started the Sacramentals activity book. I read the 6 or so pages of information on sacramentals which I found very informative. Then I had the children start the activities, all on different ones, depending upon their age and this is what made it work so well, the fact I could have an older child on a harder activity and easier ones for smaller children, basically there was activities for each of my children schooling, from 13 down to 6 years of age. It had a seamless affect to the lesson and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. More importantly they REALLY LEARNT and so did I!

I am really looking forward to the arrival of the complete set, this will definately be my religion for the children until Christmas, many productive days ahead for us all.

Today I will go over the main points with the children myself and then continue with more activities...
