We have always celebrated this day as Sunshine's nameday. Since her name is a variation of Our Lady's we like celebrate the day by decorating all of the different variations of Mary's name that we know of. Last year, we painted names and had so much fun, I think we will do it again maybe using Melissa's secret message painting method. We have also done things like decorate a cake with Marian names or decorate a page of names with stickers and doodads. We also made Turkish Crescents and had Viennese Coffee. A nameday around here always includes a treat, but I haven't decided what yet.

Here are two coloring pages I made. The first one is more detailed for my older girl, so I made the other one to for the less patient child.

Charlotte -- thanks so much ... we had a bit of a problem with yesterday's celebration of Mary's bday as dh had used up ALL the flour (incl whole wheat) making scrumptious pancakes Sunday morning but since I THOUGHT I had flour, I was going to make a cake ....

Now, I have a reason for making it Friday instead .... ! You're a peach!

We did have pizza and ice cream last night, but I had my tastebuds ready for Hot Chocolate-Espresso Brownies!
