Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

No, you didn't dream it. I know Gianna Molla was a physician. She wasn't canonized because of her avocation as a doctor, but she was a working mom. I was thinking of her this week.

I think of Venerable Zelie Martin, too. She had her own llace-making business in her home while she raised her daughters (which included St. Therese!).

Yes, the book Leonie: A difficult child talks about Zelie's work commitments, she had maids helping her out so she could juggle things better and Leonie was being terrorized by a particular maid for some period, when they were trying to figure out Leonie's many emotional problems, they prayed a novena to Zelie's recently departed sister (a nun) and this situation was uncovered.
