Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...and listened to him present Christ's Concept of Happiness, thoughts on the beatitudes. He also conducted a question and answer session. I was speechless...imagine that . I was also able to bring my original   Fundamentals of Faith and received his autograph! This book plays an important role in my reversion story...God is SO good to give me the opportunity to thank Dr. Kreeft in person. (My dd and friend made sure that I didn't act like too much of a groupy .)

If you ever have the chance to attend one of his presentations, please do!

Love,

Okay, so I have to tell my Peter Kreeft story now! I went on a pro-life retreat in college and he was the keynote speaker. It was a really wonderful retreat, and his talks were great. He stayed and had dinner with us, and ended up at my table. We were served spaghetti... and no silverware. Instead, they brought out these plastic forks that they had taped to several chopsticks to make them longer, and announced that as a "community-building" activity, we were supposed to feed each other! Thankfully, I was not paired with Mr. Kreeft, but I got to watch him and my friend Dwight feed each other with those crazy contraptions! Fortunately, they only made us do this for a few minutes before bringing out the real silverware. It was pretty funny, and he was a very good sport about the whole thing.

Oh, thanks for sharing, Tracy. I can totally picture this!

As one of my friends said at the presentation, "This is the closest I'm going to get to C.S. Lewis or G.K. Chesterton." I'm still spilling over his words and manner...

Love,
