Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wasn't sure wether to put this here or elsewhere...
My dh found this website.

Most of the melodies are Gregorian chant, easy and beautiful. Might be good for CGS or feast days.
Story of the Redemption for Children

Enjoy!

Oh, you beat me to it! I kept meaning to post that link. Musica Sacra has been putting online or reprinted at Lulu some treasures of Gregorian Chant. Of particular note is the Justine Ward series, teaching chant to children (and adults). I've been sending a few rare copies from my bookshelves to share. "Story of the Redemption for Children" I found recommdend by Helen McLoughlin (such as here and here and Mary Newland (such ashere)in their books in the 50s. So I tracked down a copy.

It's a treasure, easy to use with the children. It uses English words set to a traditional chant melody (such as Veni Creator Spiritus). The words span the redemption story -- Adam and Eve to Christ's redemption. It's a small book, but simply delightful. There's one small error on one of the pages where the notes are down a key, if you're following the notes. I'll have to find it to note it (but my copy isn't returned and I'll need to print out this to see).

I also sent in Simple Propers for Sunday Mass for Children which is ideal in learning chant and the propers of the Mass.

I am disappointed that the scanning didn't preserve the color -- it's wan't brilliant color, but it was nice to have some contrast red or other colors.

If you're wanting to incorporate chant in your family prayers, this is a very simple and great way to do it!

Oh, and I agree I think it's perfect for adding into presentations for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. I think that's the missing link I see for the CGS as it is. CGS does such a great job introducing and making the liturgy come alive to the child, and the songs fall short of the full presentation of the Church's liturgy. So working in chant -- perfect!
