Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought I would share some plans I have developed for next years school year. Starting October my family will celebrate 1st Saturdays in the following way:

Confession
Mass
Pick up Pizza (major treat)
Rosary
Then we will share what we have been learning:
Play a piece of music that we have been working on
Recite poetry, catechism, facts we have been memorizing
Give a talk on a subject that we have enjoyed.

Give out rewards for keeping on schedule for school work, milestones, etc.

I will let a couple kids be in charge of planning some litergical games and decorate to a theme.
October is St. Francis
November is All Saints day
December is St. Nicholas day
January Ephinany
February no plan
March no plan
April Lent
May Easter
June Graduation and a power point picture show covering the year.

That looks great!
I like how you have sharing time and your themes look wonderful.

I'm always in a quandary about rewards for school. For awhile we let the the kids rent a movie or video game at the end of the week and that seemed to keep most of them motivated. Then I feel guilty because I think they should be doing their work because it's the right thing to do not because they get a reward.

Do others use rewards?
