Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How do you give one a gift of a spiritual bouquet? Do you print out the exact prayers you are going to offer to one as a gift?

Any ideas/examples would be appreciated!

We've done a variety of different "flowers" as a way to put together a bouquet. Traditionally it is a card with the spiritual offerings and prayers listed on it, but it's fun to make some sort of physical bouquet to present to the recipient. Some examples of ones we have done are here.

At the bottom of that blog post I have several resources listed where you can see other examples and Alice Cantrell's site where she has a beautiful card you can print out and send.

I coordinated a spiritual bouquet for the leader of a women's group I was part of last year. I cut squares of tissue paper in red, orange, and yellow and leaves in greens. The ladies in the group wrote their prayer intentions on the papers and we just squooshed them up from the middle to make flowers. The flowers and leaves were wrapped with pipe cleaners and these "stems" were stuck into a vase filled with marbles. Our flowers weren't professional looking, or real looking, but the overall effect was nice.

This year, since I moved away, they sent me a spiritual bouquet. It was a sheet of paper with a picture of a basket of flowers and the heading "A Spiritual Bouquet." All the ladies had signed it and I still keep it on my dresser.

I really appreciate the discussions on spiritual bouquets. All my life I've just done a very simple way -- in a card or on a holycard inserted in a card we would write the number of prayers or Masses and Communions being offered for a person. "Spiritual Bouquet for You".

I never even thought of it that the flower part was missing.

Thought some of you might be interested in this...

Alice sometimes makes her beautiful artwork available in the form of a pdf to download, and she offered these beautiful spiritual bouquet cards a few weeks ago. The cards are absolutely beautiful!!!

Alice Cantrell's Tea and Cake with the Saints has a nice Spiritual Bouquet idea in it. We are doing a lot of Spiritual Bouquets this May - using ideas from Mary M's blog and Alice's card.
